The five-floor Tazia Tower in Jaisalmer is situated in the stunning Badal Palace complex. The tazia tower is a reproduction of the mausoleum of the imams with complicated sculptures on the tombstone walls, which reflects the rich ancient art made of thermocolum, wood and colorful documents. The Badal Palace near the Gate of Amar Sagar looks cloud-like and it’s the Tazia Tower. This tower is entirely different from Rajputana’s normal architecture. These were houses for the Royal Families of Rajasthan, who built them as a sign of their religion, by the Muslim craftsmen.
This is a 5-story tower and a different history is told on each floor. Every floor has a balcony renowned for its architecture and with each of its intricately sculpted models, the entire structure has Islamic touch. Tazia in Urdu is a float taken during the Muharram procession. The Muslim craftsmen built Tazia-like balcony structures and gave them to the Badal Palace Royal Patrons. On the other hand, the Badal Palace is an architectural group with distinctive carvings on the walls. It’s the Royals’ new home. The structure is a beautiful combination of architectural splendor and the rich tapestry of Islamic craftsmen, which is an ancient Islamic architectural style.
