We are proud of the excellent architecture and past of Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur. Mehrangarh is a fort. Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most majestic and monumental fortresses of Rajasthan, was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. Situated at the outskirts of Jodhpur, the fort stretches over 5 km and is situated on a 125 m high hill. It is possible to enter the fort of Mehrangarh by seven gates. These 7 gates were designed by various rulers to commemorate the victory of the armies of Bikaner and Jaipur.
The view of Jodhpur city, like a blue tapestry positioned at the foot of a hill, can be seen from this fort. Every Jodhpur ruler has helped construct this fort. Within the castle, you can see the magnificent palaces. The main buildings in the Mehrangarh Fort are Moti Mahal, Zenana man, Sheesh Mahal, Jhanki Mahal, and Phool Mahal. There are two temples inside the castle: Chamundi Devi Mandir and Nagnechiaji Mandir dedicated to Durga and Kuldevi respectively.
There are also palanquins, musical instruments, shoes, masks, weapons, decorations, and paintings in the Mehrangarh Fort. The fort is open every day between 09:00 and 05:00.
