The Himalayan Aviary or the Himalayan Bird Park set at a distance of 1.5 km from Shimla. It represents the aviary culture of Himalayan nature.
It is perched near the Vice Regal Palace at an altitude of 2210 m from the sea level. As it sets in a higher altitude level the birds in the aviary also belong to that category.
The ideal time for visiting the park is during the delightful summer because winter envelops this place almost with snow.
The Himalayan aviary houses a variety of bird species. An almost three hour in the park with Pheasants, Peafowl, Peacock and Monal will be energizing as well as thrilling especially for bird lovers. It is the Monal, the kingdom hen of Himachal Pradesh and the National bird of Nepal is the popular attraction here.
The visiting time is on all days except Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. The entrance fees us just 10 INR and it costs extra for cameras.
The Himalayan Aviary is also worthier to visit for the raw vegetation it unfolds before the visitor. The rare species of pheasants with the greenery makes it a little paradise for nature lovers as well as bird watchers.
