Located in the beautiful city of Amritsar, the Golden Temple is also known as Harmandir Sahib. The Sikhs denote it not just the place of worship but a place of human brotherhood and equality. The place welcomes the people irrespective of caste, creed, race can come here and seek the spiritual solace without any hindrance. The Golden temple has an architecture for its amazement. There are 4 entrances to this holy shrine which signifies people from all walks of life are welcomed in there. There exists a tank named Amrit Sarovar which is surrounded by the glistening central Shrine. The city of Amritsar gets its name from Amrit Sarovar. In the year 1577 which was excavated by the 4th Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das. The place is one divinity, a thing which cannot be described but only experienced by the visitors. Gurudwara herein teaches the lesson of egalitarianism and humility.
Everything the place has a resplendent shrine, an infinite calmness and where one will love to be at for sure. For what the visitors say, the place might be a home for many but the silence interspersed herein still holds only the chants of the Sikh prayers to be heard.

At Golden Temple one of the most important festival celebrated called “Vaisakhi” in the second week of April (13th April). Golden temple is visited by most Sikhs at least once during their lifetime.
1. Remove your shoes and scoks before etering the temple are (Sandle stand at the temple entrance). Wash You feet in foot bath nearby.
2. Wear full body covered cloths and need to yours head which is a sign of respect in the Gurudwara.
3. Tobacco and alcohol are strictly prohibited.
4. Photography is not permit inside the Golden Temple.
5. While listening to Gurbani, sit on the ground in the Darbar Sahib as a sign of reverence.
The Golden Temple can be reached by local transportation such as auto and cycle rickshaws they are the cheapest mode of transportation. Many rental companies from where you can hire a car and reach the Golden temple.
By Air: The Amritsar airport known as Raja Sansi International Airport is situated at a distance of 11 Km from the city.
By Rail: Amritsar have a very strong rail network with Delhi. Local transportations (Taxi and three wheelers) to the Golden temple.
By Road: Traveling from Delhi to Amritsar by road is one of the best options since both the cities are connected with national highway.
