Gita Mandir, Mathura

Rangbhoomi

Mathura is the city of temples. It is the birth city of Lord Krishna. Millions of people visit it every year to enjoy the cultural heritage of India. Let us now talk about Gita Mandir. It is Birla Mandir, also known as Gita Mandir. It is a beautiful temple marvellously built on the outskirts of Mathura on Mathura-Vrindavan road which is home to many other temples as well.

It is very similar to the Birla Mandir that is there in Delhi. It was built by Jugal Kishore Birla, the famous industrialist, who was a devotee of Lord Krishna and made grand temples in his honour across the country. Birla Mandirs are grand temples with impeccable designs, grand structure and exquisite interior designs and beautiful idols. If you are in Mathura then this is a must-visit temple for you.

You will be awestruck with its amazing ambience and the architecture of the temple. It is inspired by the Bhagwad Gita, the eternal song of Lord Krishna. All the verses of the Bhagwad Gita are written on the main chamber of the temple. The portrayal of great warrior Arjuna on a chariot along with Lord Krishna is a sight to behold and admire. It is built with red sandstone and it is such a grand temple that it can be seen from a distance. You will find many beautiful idols made of white marble in the temple. It is surrounded by lush green gardens where you can relax and enjoy nature. You can visit it on any day.
